The Mysterious Suitcase Dilemma
It's not every day that a suitcase full of grief arrives at our door, but it does happen.
An OEM client was developing a state of the art homeland defense technology, which promised great capabilities in a relatively small package, about the size of a small suitcase. Packed full of sensitive scientific gear, wireless communications links, positioning equipment and the necessary processing power, it worked incredibly well for its intended application. In fact, testing had exceeded all expectations... until the EMC compliance test. At this point, everything went full stop, and our client called us for help.
With time very short, our client flew to our facility with suitcase in tow, and on a Sunday night 3Gmetalworx began the process of assessing the dimensions of the problem. The overall architecture was set in stone, apertures would be required to support all manner of interconnects, and the available mechanical envelope left almost nothing to work with. There was simply no time for anything but wrapping metalwork around all the gear, while allowing interconnects to function without excess leakage. Faced with the challenge of shielding the product to compliance, 3Gmetalworx began work on a priority basis early the next day to develop the necessary metalwork.
By Thursday of the same week, our client was back at home and the product was back in the test lab. This time, it sailed through compliance testing, and a clever and potent option was added to the homeland defense arsenal. Although not all of our clients need this level of support, they sleep better knowing it's there when they need it most.
3Gmetalworx: We succeed when our client succeeds.
